Bluetooth Logo Variations

Since the Bluetooth SIG raised a flag in point of the trifinite Bluetooth Logo variations some weeks ago, the logos will have to undergo modifications. Therefore, the logos for several projects have been removed from the webserver today.

Hopefully, we will soon find the time for the creation of new logos that do not violate the brand of the Bluetooth Wireless Technology.

We wish everyone a trifinite.start of the next year...

And here a message to all of the 6000 Blooover downloaders: Behave ;)

trifinite.stuff released

With the starting of the 21C3 in Berlin today, there are a lot of new things on the trifinite.webpage.
Blooover - the Bluetooth wireless technology Hooover is available in a 'quite stable' version.

The previously announced paper on Blueprinting (Bluetooth fingerprinting) along with Blueprint (a perl tool for doing it) are available from now on.

Information on BlueSmack, a ping-of-death like Denail of Service attack for a rather large group of Bluetooth enabled devices has been made available.

All of these projects are addressed in our talk at 21C3 which takes place on the second day at 3:00 pm in room 1. The presentation has the title "#66 Bluetooth Hacking". An audio and video recording of the talk will be made availabe under a free license right after this event.

Slides will be online when they are ready ;)

Comments are welcome.

Nokia 6310i firmware fix tested

Nokia have sent me an updated 6310i to test, and, indeed, it does appear to have been fixed as far as Bluebugging and Bluesnarfing goes. I have not yet tested any other models. However, they are still not doing too much about getting the message out to affected users - I actually found it easier to use Google to find the above link than to search their own site for any information regarding bluetooth security.

New section on download page

From now on there is a fun section on the trifnite.downloads page. Besides tools, papers and presentation slides you will now also find things like desktop backgrounds. The first item in the fun section is a desktop background featuring the Blooover tool that is going to be released at the 21C3 in the end of the year.

New Blueprinting Logo

Now, the Blueprinting project has a new logo. This new logo makes the idea of the project - to fingerprint Bluetooth-enabled devices - a little clearer. Check out the idea of the Blueprinting project yourself.
